Secrets of Warcraft PvP – Warlock Basics
Written by admin.

Knowing your Warlock’s strengths and weaknesses is the fundamental secret of Warcraft PvP success. Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that’s all you need to know, or even close to it. But without a thorough understanding of your character’s Player versus Player strengths and weaknesses, your ultimate success will be limited. Since this is so important, let’s look at the PvP strengths and weaknesses of a Warlock.

Warlock PvP Strengths

I can tell you from personal experience that Warlocks can be a nightmare to go against in Player versus Player. Your character’s greatest strength is the way they can DoT and crowd control. In plain English, your character’s strength is the way they can cast spells that do damage over time on an opponent, then cause the victim to run around the battlefield in terror while they die.

Another strength of your Warlock when going against magic users is the Felhunter. Target this pet at an enemy caster and you’ll make his life miserable.

Warlock PvP Weaknesses

Unfortunately for you, your character does also have weaknesses in PvP combat. Some classes (Mages, for example) can break your Fear spells and counter your DoT spells. When going up against these annoying vermin, you’ll need to have spells that apply all their damage immediately. You’re also going to need more mana against these, so a spell like Life Tap will prevent you from running out of mana before your foe does. Running out of mana in PvP is a fatal mistake.

That covers the basic PvP Strengths and Weaknesses of your Warlock. But there’s much more to learn if you really want to rise to the top in PvP. You can eventually gain the information you need yourself, but a top-notch PvP guide will tell you everything you need to know, including specific instructions for dealing with each player class that can resist your DoTs and crowd control.
